SOLID & Partners for Others: Keiara's Story (4 of 4)

Two grassroots organizations located in Canada doing some amazing collaborative work. Saltspring Organization for Life Improvement and Development (SOLID) and Partners for Others collaborating and shipping a container of much needed items to HaMakhata, a village located in the country of Lesotho.

SOLID is a non-profit society dedicated to support and empower HIV-AIDS affected families in sub-Saharan Africa. In partnership with VIDEA and other community organizations, SOLID aims to provide a model for other communities to join in the fight against poverty and HIV, resulting in committed global friendships.

Partners for Others is committed to addressing the immediate needs of the poor and needy, and providing the tools which will empower them to meet their future needs. PFO main focuses are education and the empowerment of local groups to make a difference in there own communities using tools and materials supplied. The donor network includes community groups, schools, government agencies, and individuals who desire to make a direct impact. PFO ships clothing, medical supplies, books, tools, food, building materials and computers.

PFO is committed to being completely involved in the distribution of the donations we receive. Partners for Others personally visit and set up a distribution network that suits the location they are assisting. PFO works hand in hand with local government organizations, community groups and churches to try to maximize the local impact. In the past 10 years Partners for Others has sent over 1,700,000 pounds of donated goods to the South Pacific, Asia, the Caribbean, and Southern Africa.
