I got spanked for doing wrong, not for being a kid. And it wasn't these little taps on the butt or hand...nope. A paddle or a belt, and I thank my parents for helping me be a disciplined person now at age 22. Oh, and by the way, I'm white.

@jmbhottie23 why would you get spanked for spilling milk? thats kinda petty don't you think. and as a matter of fact, i got spanked growing up and it did me a favor versus these other little white kids getting put in time out and being sent to their room where they can sleep, play video games, or read, etc. when my dad pulled out his paddle, i never back talked him again!

Not all white people dont discipline their kids, its a common misconception. Also, alot of black believe in spankings and beating their kids. There is no proven studies showing spanking help at all. In fact, it has no positive effects. It may make the kids listen in the short term, but they wont have respect for their parents and only teaches them violent behavior. How can you tell kids that violence doesnt solve anything and not to fight other kids when you are spanking them for spilling milk?
