Mark Laurent - LIVING THE LIFE

Just a bit of silliness really :-) I recorded this years ago on a cassette portastudio with all the cheapest, nastiest bits of pseudo-musical junk I could find round the house, including a $90 Strat copy, a grungey little practice amp and some ornamental ethnic drums from the Trade Aid shop. I think it was a response to a track that had just come on student radio by a young guy named Darcy Clay called Jesus I Was Evil. I didn't resonate with his sentiment, but the record-it-cheap-in-the-bedroom vibe appealed to the closet punk in me. The video is just my equally cheap attempt to tart it up a bit, and have fun with iMovie at the same time. A somewhat beefed-up version of this is the last track on my CD UnderGrowth.

@tafxkz I was holding the camera in one hand while acting out in front of it - shaky;s just my natural state. The whole thing was just a bit of fun really - one take sort of stuff.

He he! Thanx for that. A total bit of goof-off, but I thought it had bit of attitude so worth th risk of embarrassing myself :-) The vocal effect was just that I plugged my mic into the cheap practice amp and turned it up to 10, then stuck another cheap mic in front of the speaker to record the result.
