HATTIESBURG, MS -- The American Civil Liberties Union filed a lawsuit today on behalf of Andre Cooley, a corrections officer for juvenile detainees with an exemplary record, who was fired when his supervisors discovered that he was gay. The lawsuit claims that Cooley's constitutional rights were violated by the Forrest County Sheriff's Department and his superior officers

  • @ebonics4everyone are you that retared ahhahahaha wow talk about being a bigot. you a true retard.

  • @ebonics4everyone you are completely missing the point here. to be a "pedophile" one must have no regard for CONSENT of others, therefore they will do pretty much anything for sex with anyone that they want. what you are saying is that consent doesnt matter at all in sex, just sexual orientation. so by saying that all gays are pedophiles means that you have no regard for consent and that it is more likely for you to rape someone because you dont care if they consent to the sex or not

  • This is my cuz Andre is black what u mean he may have a taste for men of color hes a light skin black man

  • @ebonics4everyone you are either a troll or a complete fucking idiot

  • What if he gets pervy and rapes one of the prisoners? What if he has a taste for men of color, and they sue the state of MS, a state w/ a bad history of racism, for discrimination? I feel pity for the state of MS having to allow a pedophile officer in their prisons.

  • I will never understand why people support discrimination in both companies and government. Sadly most people do.

  • This is such an injustice and it is great to see the ACLU working to stop this kind of discrimination.

  • @ersaamen I'm angry at myself for not knowing that act was not already passed.

  • The Employment Non-discrimination Act NEEDS to be passed NOW!

It's absolutely ridiculous that things like this still happen.
