Dr. Donald Corenman, M.D., D.C., (http://neckandback.com | 970-479-5895), is a Colorado spine expert, spine surgeon and an avid researcher of disorders, conditions and treatments associated with the neck, back and spine. This video is designed for the primary care physician or specialist such as a Chiropractor or Physical Therapist to use in understanding an MRI of the normal cervical spine. The image shown in the video is one is a normal scan of the spine—that is, all of the structures scanned are normal in appearance and not injured or degenerative. When a specialist is able to recognize what a normal scan looks like, it is much easier to determine what an abnormal finding is. This particular video—Understanding an MRI of the Normal Cervical Spine—is the companion video to the next two videos in the series; MRI of cervical nerve compression and MRI of cervical stenosis with spinal cord injury.
This video is designed to give you a basic understanding of the anatomy of the cervical spine and then to identify the basic changes that occur with degenerative disc disease, herniated discs, nerve root compression and spinal stenosis with spinal cord compression.
Dr. Corenman is a Colorado spine expert and devoted researcher and has written countless medical articles on spine injuries, spine conditions and the spine surgical options that are available today. He recently launched his own website, http://neckandback.com to educate patients on spine disorders and to offer second opinions to physicians and colleagues who are seeking additional information on specific spine injuries and treatment options.

Dr. Corenman, I was wondering if it would be legally acceptable for me to use your MR images as a control in a project I am doing. Thank you.

How do you get that marker line on there? I have my MRI on cd and cant figure out how to line up those 2 views.

@cantfindapril
Every MRI "film" on a CD contains a DICOM reading program. There are 3-4 standard programs and some uncommon ones. Each reading program has a different set of utilities that can drive you crazy in deciphering. Search the utilites for the reference and scout line tools.
