@amberw55 That's quite interesting; you should feel honored. What a great composer he was.

Ninemuses may hav the right aspect on this. sounds like speeding up and slowing down - the orchestra seems out of sync. I like this. at least they tried. BTW. I attended a music conservatory (mainly to avoid the military draft). My exotic teacher was Mme. Lidge, a great, great grand student of Liszt (?) She played like the dickens and would schedule a concert and not show up if she did not feel like playing that night.

Give the orchestra and especially the pianist credit for even attempting this Scherzo. The fact that this is a community orchestra turning in a credible performance of this delightful music shows they are trying to keep classical music alive--and accessible to more people!

Nice performance! But stupid audience! They didn't even stop once they realised you were still carrying on! What IS that!? It is almost as if they just wanted to look good themselves by their reaction to your performance. Listeners are always trying to make themselves look good to others in the audience. They have NO respect for other people (those who are their to really enjoy the WHOLE performance or to play the whole performance without interruption). My heart goes out to you.

Almost a minute faster than some of the others.

Not a good version, too rushed, sloppy, vague and lacking character.

@deanskis - I have sheet music version of it for Piano Duet, not as long as the video here, but if u want it, it's yours.
An awful performance. The artist speeds up in the easy parts and slows down in the more difficult parts. And the conductor can't control the tempo either!. Very distracting and unlistenable. Technically, the performance sounds like it was recorded on a cell phone.

@rgwendland ...case in point? Your comments are too general to be of any value. It would be helpful to hear from someone who knows the score and can add some insight.

The Peter Katin version with the LPO is more polished. Very neglected, very fine British pianist.

This is with a community orchestra.

I am curious. What interests/vocation led ninemuses to submit this piece? I thought that I was one of a few who really appreciate this piece.

This piece was submitted so that other YouTubers could benefit from exploring new repertory. Although Litolff is not one of the main "source" composers like Brahms or Liszt, his music still deserves our attention. By the way, ninemuses is a professional musician.
