beleive it or not but bass dosent have to be play with ur fingers.

it really does depend on your style, in this case

pop punk,punk, alternative, use picks to get a nice punch sound to the bass cuz it goes well with that type of music. some great bass players play with picks, like rick savage, geme simmions, mark hoppus, mike dirnt, and a ton more. but steve harris from iron maiden uses his fingers but he hits the strings like a hammer, so using ur fingers like that can sound like a pick too

@ftball20 i agree with you totally but, gene simmons and especially mark hoppus are not GREAT bassists, no offence but even mark hoppus himself admits to being a terrible bassist sure pete wentz makes him look great but he is still horrendous

@dew1403 Mate, you play what you like, how you like, and screw the doubters. bass playing is all about rhythm and fell, not "party tricks". As the old joke goes "How many bass players does it take to change a lightbulb? One to change it and eight to stand round saying *insert famous bassplayer here* could have done it better. Nice P too, used to own a 75 custom model.

@dew1403 i dont get the logic of covering easy songs on youtube. becuase you had to know youd get criticism for this i mean come on i could teach a chimpanzee to play this song. and if you think you could just go ahead and learn any song you want try the jaco version of donna lee or teen town or some thing other than artless thoughtless crappy rock music
