In Shintoism, originally the conductors of all religious practices, were women like this priestess. But when Confucianism arrived from China, it changed the face of Shintoism. Confucianism is very male dominated with the "Protocols of the Proper Gentleman." At Shinto temples, all rites were rarely conducted by priestesses, but by priests. So this performance by this priestess, is going back to the original Shintoism practiced in Japan.

神聖な力が宿るのは女性ではなく、女性自身という考え方だったら

@TheInuyashafan50 no offense but these women are not geisha. MIko is a female priest/shaman. You might be confusing miko with the term maiko which is an apprentice geisha. thank you and peace.
