Home made ocarina 5 hole pendant Zelda like shape for my buddy

Hey everyone, the vid basically says it all.
I made this for my buddy awhile back before the place shut down where I had my stuff fired.
It's not done, painted and looking and sounding great!
I'm really happy with how it turned out and I sure hope he does to when he gets it!
The pictures don't do it justice as it reacts very different to different lights. You can definitely see it's green in the pics but without a bright flash, as you can see in the video, it looks more blackish. Darker with a deeper clearcoat.

Ok cool ive watched ocarinatycoons but the only part that confused me was when after he made the downward cut he said do the same to the top.Ill make a video response to his video after i make my first one.Cheers.

And to answer your question simply, no. Other than cutting the ocarina body itself in half to hollow it out, there are only the sound hole/air channel and fingering holes.

well with 29lbs you'll have lots to learn with.

I don't know when I'll be making a new ocarina but I do know a couple good tutorials on making them here on youtube.

You should check out 2 of my good friends pages and find their tut's. First off is Ocarinatycoon. I originally learned using that method, which I think was a good way, maybe even better way to learn as it helps you to better understand what you're doing and how it works.

Next is Schwessie. That's basically the way I do it now.

Nevermind i listened to it again and it sounded good :} I was wondering other than the making the sound hole and the holes for the notes do you have to cut anything else inside to make it sound like an ocarina ?if you make another ocarina you could try making a a full video.I just ordered 29 pounds of stoneware cone 8 clay so i could do a bit of trial and error.
