After seeing Sparky's vid of a DecTalk version of Pinkie Pie's cupcakes song on EveryPonyVideos' channel, I got inspired to whip this up...

... I am not a clever pony when it comes to DecTalk... IMHO, I've just now uploaded manure. Apologies for subjecting you to this. XoP

This uses Setzer's SPC soundfont, too...

If anyone wants DecTalk (KlattClassic), here's a download link: http://209.85.117.197/12400/0/0/p1005313/klattclassic.zip

  • @ALXXMaXX Even though it may appear as an option in Audacity, that actually doesn't do a thing in Windows 7 (64-bit, at least). It's what I did when I had Windows XP, but I was pretty irked to find that little feature didn't carry on over...

  • @MrCoffeeWings You do know you can record by using "stereo mix" as the input on Audacity?

  • @ALXXMaXX Well, I think it's still possible to run on Vista; I used the program in Windows 7, and the problem I had with it is that it quit itself whenever I tell it to save an audio file (regardless of compatibility options)... so to get the audio recorded into a file, I just took an audio cable and made a loop between my speakers and my mic port, opened up Audacity, and recorded my DecTalk speech (or in this case, song) from there. :o)

    So yeah, it'll run, but save your file often! ;o)

  • @MrCoffeeWings Probably not. It's a .zip file, and Mac can't read .zip files, I don't think. Maybe it could run in compatibility mode? But then again, from my experience compatibility mode on Vista is usually pretty spotty.

  • @ALXXMaXX Now you got me stumped... it's a program for old Microsoft operating systems like Win95. I don't know if it'll work on any sort of Mac OS. I'm quite clueless when it comes to Apple stuff. ^^;

  • @ALXXMaXX Seems to be someone's data server somewhere in Maryland which conveniently had that old file up for public download...

    And yeah, I know what you mean about malware... I've beefed my computers up with Kaspersky before they touched the 'net, and everything's gone smoothly... rest assured that file doesn't have malware and is safe to download! :o)

  • @MrCoffeeWings Hm. Like, how old? Could it work on an earlier version of Mac OSX?

  • @ALXXMaXX OH! I forgot to mention... it's VERY OLD software, so it's not guaranteed to perform stably on a modern OS like Vista or Windows 7. ^^;

  • @MrCoffeeWings Oh, nice! :3

    It's just, I'm usually a little wary of pirated/filehosting stuff because it can have viruses. I'm assuming this doesn't have any. XD

    Where does that IP go, though? Out of curiosity.

  • @ALXXMaXX Nope, it's freeware, at least the version in my description; it's possible there's a more advanced commercial version out there, but I've yet to see it. :oP
