Pt 1 slideshow of the Desert Road and Tongario Crossing (Trackhead to Tongariro South Crater), Tongariro National Park, North Island, New Zealand, April 2006.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This video was edited and synched to the soundtrack of Peter Gabriel's "The Feeling Begins", and duly acknowledged as such when posted. However, due to a copyright claim made to YouTube that soundtrack has been removed and replaced with Nine Inch Nails' "3 Ghosts I". This is not a great accompanying track as it is not synced to the video, so apologies for the overall film not being as I would want, but when you have the rug pulled out from under your feet, what can you do?

If you want to see this film as originally intended I suggest you find a version of the track, from the album "Passion", and play that in the background while muting the sound here.

  • oh, i see--so that's why there's so little of that album uploaded on yt. got it.

  • "The Feeling Begins" ... the majestic, breath-taking opening of the Martin Scorsese controversial 1988 film, 'The Last Temptation Of Christ' ... is simply one of the most powerfully composed instrumental pieces I have ever heard. Peter Gabriel ... WOW! It captures the height of tension that was prevalent throughout the movie. You did an incredible job incorporating it with gorgeous desert images. Overall, I felt it was a nice blend perfectly composed. Thanks for making this clip available!! A++!

  • Magnifiques paysages et très belle musique 'The feeling begins' Bravo
