Deep within the Luray Caverns is the worlds largest musical instrument because it spans over 3 1/2 acres. On tours, you get to hear it play. Here it is in some of it's glory. You really have to be there, the sound that my camera records is dreadful.

  • It's a great instrument... but the reason for the name 'organ' is because the stalactites resemble organ pipes... this instrument is technically a lithophone, something like a xylophone with rock instead of wood.

  • I've been there and it sounded great!!!
