Lisa and Brandy are welcomed by a Messianic Jewish congregation for Shabbat service Friday night, January 4, 2007. We get some great advice for the Leviticus Experiment and get pumped up for the month ahead!
People are entitled to identify themselves in any way they see fit. If some want to follow traditions from 3000 years ago fine. If some want a fusion with modernity, fine. If some want a fusion between Judaism and Christianity, taking some from each, fine. No one should object to others taking some of their wonderful customs. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
@keleme83 Remember what Jesus said my friend; "For I say unto you, that except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven."
I believe that no Christian should EVER ridicule Jews for they kept the covenant that brought Christ to the whole world. I don't believe it's necessary to keep all the law because Jesus has rewritten the law in our hearts. But if following Levitical law makes you more mindful of God in your daily activities, how can it be wrong? I have a Jewish girlfriend and, believe it or not, it has confirmed my beliefs more. And now she is considering a lifestyle closer to this.
The answer is no, Why? To be truly Jewish (Yahudi) you need to leave the crooked paths (Hebrew, Islam and Christian) of separation and adjoin in marriage to the truth faith of Yahuah (English) of hosts. Without the host your an empty vessel, but they say, how can we be Thomas to our faith, yet they knew not what they already had.
@wooka21 So I can be christian and satanist at the same time since Satan was created by G-d please dont be stupid. messianic ¨¨jews¨¨ arent jews and even if the guy that actually looked like a jew he no a ex-jew
prosperabovehaters: one commandment Jesus taught against God's commandments was, according to the gospel of John, you must eat his flesh and drink his blood to have eternal life. At that time, Jesus lost all but the final 12 disciples. This is an absolutely outrageous statement made by Jesus, whether it was literal or metaphorical. There is simply no way even a Jew with rudimentary knowledge would fall for that statement, and of course, they didn't. You cannot be Jewish and Christian.
you can not be christian and jew you ether one or the other, a jew who converts to another religion is still considered jewish until the day they die but, they are labeled negatively as mushumad (heritic) a christian who converts to judaism would be considered jewish until they return to their former religion then they are not jewish anymore.
@Yeremyahabba They don't make him into an Idol...He is G-d in the flesh. He never taught anyone to forsake God's commandments, where are you learning all this from?
How would Christians feel if someone pretended to be a Christian in order to entice them out of Christianity?
Messianic Judaism is maybe 100 years old, at best, a product of deceptive Christian evangelists desperate for a new way to swindle jews out of their identity; one of the few things they still have left.
So we have christian fundamentalists making a disgusting mockery/imitation of an ancient religion.
