The Streets of Singapore

Part of a mini media project in my class "The city: Urbanization and Migration" at Singapore Management University Fall 2009. My video reflects differences in street life, and is followed by an essay on shared spaces (not on youtube!). The first part shows pictures taken of the regular and ordered Singapore, whereas the final part is from Little India. The video shows how the street life differs, with the streets in Little India as more personal and vivid. The first part reflects on how Le Corbusiers dream of a city, streets ordered by function. However the feeling of being on those streets, with huge open spaces is a fake and artificial feeling compared to that of Little India. The pictures are taken from Havelock Road, to Singapore Management University, and then finally Little India.
