It's a shame the "power era" had to come about in the middle of her career. She was so much fun to watch because you could actually see her thinking out there. Today it's just hit the ball as hard as you can, 1st one to get the power shot in wins the point. I think if they went back to wooden rackets she'd be the #1 player in the world even today. Her game reminds me of Chris Evert except even better!

so ironic..the video shows her playing on the clay court and that was the only surface she couldn't win the grand slam on - the french open - wish she could have won that 1997 FO where she lost to Iva Majoli !!

@djjs91 it is unfortunately also the source of her demise. She was over-confident. For her, it was impossible she might lose. When Seles beat her at the French in 1998, she was stunned. And when she lost to Graf one year later, it was the beginning of the end. And while the loss to Seles was due to bad play from Hingis vs very high level from Seles, the match against graf was one Hingis should have won. It was her ego that made her lose, not Graf's play that was far from her best.

she looks so confident even at a young age. but if anyone else had her talent, they would be confident too. her belief in her talent is one of the biggest reasons for her successful career.
