Senator Chris Dodd (D-CT), a longtime advocate for national service and a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer, today spoke on the Senate floor in support of the Serve America Act, which includes large parts of his Service for All Ages initiative. The Service for All Ages initiative is a group of four bills that will expand and strengthen opportunities for Americans of all ages to serve their communities. Dodd, who is a senior member of the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP), was joined by Senator Thad Cochran (R-MS) and Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-3) in introducing the initiative last month.
If you ever need anything, Mr. Dodd, done to help you in Atlanta, I'd be happy to offer my services! Unemployed writer/Passionate Poet, not yet a citizen but lived here 20 years (from Ireland!) Thank you for your message of service. it is truely patriotic and noble and worthy!! I hope Obama makes a direct message to EVERYONE: Serve each-other!
