Here we are in Long Island City, on the siding along the Montauk Branch, where we see LIRR SW1001 100, as it revs up a bit, blows for the 11th Street Crossing, and heads into the yard. If you have any questions about the video, feel free to message me. Comments are welcome. The video was taken on April 6th, 2009.

  • How often do trains run through that crossing?

  • When i and my good old friend was in Spain in 1989 and 1992 we see the Spanish Railways type 310. RENFE ( The Spanish States Railways) got a hole new type of switcher. They have a GM 8-645E root blown engine, like the US type SW1000. It so great to hear the sound from the blower. I love that sound. It,s coll we still can hear that sound here in Denmark from our,s class MY and MX.
