I'm not sure what's up but I can't find the patch tool. There're the two healing brushes but no patch tool. Mine is CS5 as well.

Its nice to see someone who takes time to make a nice and informative video without hurrying up or simply putting music with no explanation. Your videos are great, thanks for putting them on.
One question...what are the dynamics that cause the patch tool to work better after using a quick mask? I tried to figure out what is different, but didn't understand what changes took place other than you selected an area instead of replaced an area. Can you explain please?

you have to be on the layer of the image you are using the tool on.

it sais to me "could not use the patch tool because the selected area is empty"
