I used to see Robin Hall and Jimmy McGregor on, I think Tonight many years ago. As a tyro folkie I loved them. Some years ago I was poking through a big box of LPs in Smithfield Market in Belfast and came across a record of theirs. Didn't buy it. Walked away. 5 minutes later I decided to go back and buy it. Too late! It was gone! Kicking meself ever since!

I learnt to sing this song from this recording, and fifty years later I still sing it the same way. Timeless. So sad that Robin is no longer with us, but his song stays with me in my heart.

My dad had a record with this song on it when I was a wee girl. I love this version of the Mingualay Boat Song to this day
