thinking eighty grand would pay for two extravagant funerals....greedy sister

@last426 You should have paid for half of the expenses and you should have get yourself involved with the care of your mother and your grandmother and their inheritance, in order to claim what was rightfully yours. What you did was a wash and as a lawyer, you know very well that legal responsibility not always goes hand in hand with moral responsibility. I would turn backwards in my grave if a ever see my sons suing each other for monies any of them spent on me. Sorry, but that's how I feel.

I am so surprised that only about 20 years ago people were so nice. Now people are so disrespectful. I am glad you got your money back since you didn't make an agreement with your sister to run it up so high.

this is sad he DID have a moral obligation that poor woman watching so many loved ones die that had to be hard

And yes, these guests are very articulate!

@last426 Yeah, there's no getting away from those 1099s.
Thanks for responding. Glad you and your sister and communicating again. Good luck!

I miss the 90s people was so respectable and kind to each other ,now a days they seem upset and ready to cuss or fight .

My question is, why are people so upset over someone taking family to court, but fine with someone scamming family. Only difference I see is the airing-dirty-laundry bit: "It's okay to treat loved ones like crap, just don't let outsiders find out."
You did your sister a favor. If I remember correctly, the show payed all or a portion of any judgment so she came out ahead.
And you had every right to sue. Unfortunately, that's the only way to get someone's attention - especially family. She left you little choice.

@jksonny My Sis ended up with 4,300 worth of stuff and I paid that on the VISA bill. People's Court did pay the judgment. And then, a few months later, I got an IRS 1099 from the producers to pay taxes on. We both got a one hundred dollar appearance fee. But the video did as intended -- we have been in touch and are slowly mending the relationship.
