  • Where was this? 7th Street Entry?

  • @fatcatbuzz Yes. The Entry it was.

  • @garretguidry1 Your understanding of this musical style seems to be based on something besides what the thousands of fans care about. Nobody in the band is a virtuoso--that's not what they're all about. If they wanted technicians, they would have hired other people to sing their songs. What an utterly worthless remark you've made. Why did you bother?

  • Shonen knife forever!!!!

  • The "band" has been around since 1980. If you look at the indivudual, pure talent, it's true that they are not outstanding. But it's the whole is greater... This is Naoko's band. She's an outstanding songwriter who really believes in rock and roll. She walks the talk. Ask Kurt Cobain and Elvis Costello. Shonen Knife's alter ego is a band called the 5,6,7,8's... check out their videos.

  • @garretguidry1 Wanker

  • I just want to hear "We Buy Daddy A Hammer"!!!!

  • @garretguidry1 This style of music is harder to play than it looks. If the player doesn't understand what rocknroll is, the audience gets stuck with a lifeless performance. Shonen Knife can rock. The beauty of this song only really came out to me when I heard this version many years ago. I appreciated the Carpenters but having the poetic lyrics juxtaposed against a punk back drop and with an honesty and innocence that comes out even now was a revelation. Its a big, beautiful world of music.

  • @kc7fys 7th Street Entry and 1st Ave are great venues. I've seen so many great bands at that place. Unfortunately, I've never seen Shonen Knife live.

  • Pure F'ing brilliance- the Knife rocks!

  • ...and anyhow Etsuko Nakanishi is an awesome drummer-- any band would be lucky to have her.

  • Kawai!

  • @garretguidry1 dont be a total coward either. just suck it up and do it. who cares if everyone will prob make fun of u at how u most likely suck at music but just man up and post your videos of your awesome band that we havent heard of, or just u really showing your knowledge of theory on the guitar by demonstrating how quickly you can run the all the formations of every minor /major chord or maybe u could run up and down some scales at lightning speed. please do show
