My son sounds a lot like yours. We are so glad that awareness of SPD is increasing. Thank you for sharing.

My daughter chews on her clothes , and puts huge holes in them. She also chews her finger nails and toe nails to bleeding. My daughter is in outpatient o/t, because the school won't even attempt to do o/t with her. I have 3 doctor recommendations for school based o/t, and they've yet to start it or even discuss it with me!

Refridgerator tubing works great for oral input- I've got ASD/SPD myself and I'm ALWAYS chewing things, including my fingers. Refridgerator tubing is safe for the teeth, and although you go through it often with chewers, it's great to use. :) I love it.

This is so interesting. My 6-year old daughter has SPD, and does similar things. She also chews all sorts of things, and complains about a tummy-ache frequently. I have figured out that this is usually an anxiety related thing. Perhaps it is the same thing as your child's tummy telling him to do things.

We bought our daughter a vibrating teether type item. I carry it in a case in my purse so she can ask me for it anytime she feels the urge to chew on something that she knows she should not. It also gives her a lot more oral stimulation since it vibrates and helps her to not need to chew as much. We got them through Albilitations
