@pinkrockstheuniverse: Americans aren't the only people in the world who can't tell the difference between an English accent and a Scottish one. The real problem American's have is trying to understand what the hell you people are actually saying in the first place. Most Scots and Northern English lack any semblance of civilized speech whatsover, and the real issue, I guess, is that you can't seem to get your heads around the fact that Americans don't give a shit about your stupid accents.

@hailmasch "Say something without the accent"? Could you detail for me precisely what that might mean? Nobody speaks without accent: there is no neutral English. If he meant 'speak with another accent', then fine; if, however, he meant 'can you drop the accent and speak normally', then shouldn't that be considered somewhat offensive, at beat merely uncouth?

Not quite sure if I understand your question, hailmasch. Does it bother me that he has an accent? Is that what you're implying?
