Woody Shaw III speaks briefly with jazz journalist and web producer Brian Pace (www.thepacereport.com) about the music of Woody Shaw and jazz during the 1970s.
Great clip! The album here is one of the ones in my collection. Amazing how I had no idea that the baby pictured and I would communicate years later! Your dad was full of all the essential musical elements based around soul and emotions to me. He clearly was no a political a.. kissing musical clone. What an inspiration.! He stood on his own feet well but clearly humbled by those who helped him to develop his own thing. I always can recognize his sound/approach!
the 70's was off the chain, Woody was off the chain and Woody III was his greatest statement. It's something else!!!!
