Can you please make another video of the Acela with your higher quality camera? If you can that would be great but if you cant that's ok too! Anyways great video! Your layout is huge!!

I'll work on it, thanks. I've been meaning to do a reshoot using both of my Acela trains....maybe do a video of "Acelas passing in the night," akin to the famous, old "Centuries Pass in the Night" on the old New York Central. Thanks for your note.

Sweet train! I just ordered this locomotive with the 6 matching passenger cars, can't wait!! Your layout track plan looks cool, how big is it?

Thanks for the note. You'll love the locomotive. The layout has almost 750 lineal feel of track in a train room that's 70 feet long and 50 feet wide (at its widest). The layout appears to have 2, 3, or even 4 tracks abreast, but that's not quite right. It's really just one loop of track that has been folded back on itself two times. I aimed to build a layout that could accommodate long trains, each of which would have long runs. At scale speed, trains take 6 minutes to run the layout.

Looks like a great loco. You said this is the 267 right? I thought the difference between the 261 and 267 is the 261 has the white stripe but your video shows your engine has the white stripe.

Thanks, yes, it is a great locomotive. I love the smoke, steam and the improved sounds. Yes, mine is #267 and, yes, it does have a white stripe. I double-checked the 2010 vol. 2 catalog, and you're correct. It shows the #261 w/ a white stripe but not the #267. I guess the moral is don't believe all the pictures in the catalog--after all, they're just artist drawings anyway, not photos of actual trains.
