No, you weren't. Glad you appreciate the Furs, one of my favorite groups from my youth and of all time, but don't spend your life looking at our generation. Believe it or not, too many people back in the 80s wasted their time thinking all the great music happened in the 60s & 70s ("classic rock, dude!"). The fact is EVERY generation re-invents music. Love this music, but go find yours, too. Better yet, invent it.

This is a great tune regardless of what decade it's from - the bass line, the synths, the unabashedly Brit accents, it's a great Pop tune, period.

I feel lucky to have grown up in the 1980's, being a teenager some 14 yrs old in 1982 the Physcedelic Furs were one of the first albums I bought. Looking back I realise how much great music came out of the UK at the time though I never thought much of the music from 60's or 70's of the time. To me it was all about Simple Minds, Depeche Mode, New Order and so many other groups that came out in the early 80's. We loved the fashion and we all wanted to look like them they were our idols lol.

Aside from great bands like the furs, the Smith's, Depeche Mode, U2, The Cure, New Order, Echo Flock of Seaguls..etc etc. The sad thing is that there is so much more music that would actually blow the minds of real alternative 80s fans. You would not believe how awesome the 80s really were. There's still a treasure of music you never heard. Its just sad of all the great bands that were never heard because there simply was too much great music back then
