After Words: Alan Beattie, "False Economy: A Surprising Economic History of the World" interviewed by Patrice Hill, chief economic correspondent for The Washington Times
The video is very interesting for me because I was born in Argentina but I recognize that it is the focus in this chapter avoid a global view of the book.
I miss the Mr. Beattie answer to the first part of the first question (why he wrote the book).
"False Economy" is an extraordinary book for people who wants to understand better the forces driving their local reality. Macro-economic analysis is the only way to that undestanding and the book gives a methodology for this analysis. I would recommend to translate the book to all the main languages and introduce it in the medium-level schools to open the mind of the young generations. I would also recommend to Mr. Beattie to create a blog for further discussions.
