This was from the first episode featuring Orson Welles as "The Shadow", and the first of the Sunday afternoon Mutual series [heard at 5:30pm(et)] for Blue Coal {"the finest of Pennsylvania anthricite"}. This opening was actually pre-recorded, featuring the previous "Shadow", Frank Readick; Orson couldn't quite master "The Shadow"'s sinister laugh for the opening and closing,

Notice how the announcer numbers "sharpsters..." among The Shadow's prey. This means he'd probably be going after that Wall Street crowd if he were around today. We need somebody like The Shadow to put strike fear and some humility into their hearts.
