@sumfanrock: I work in A&R for a record label and of course bands make money from record sales, especaily when they are as large as Good Charlotte. It is true that merch and touring accounts for a percentage of their income but it's not the majority share -- so I would refrain from calling people idiots when you yourself are clearly not knowledgable on the subject.
