@GP9railfan That's awesome. I think it's great! I meant that some people say that all passenger rail operations are subsidized, and it's far from true. The Maine Eastern Railroad is an excellent passenger rail success story in modern America.

@gp9railfan no problem man work always comes first in the economic times

Yep. It'll probably be busy with the college there, & people going to & from school. Thanks for watching. I'll have another FL9 cab ride video up soon.
And people say private passenger operations can't work...

@gibb1991 Maine Eastern averages 150 people per run during their normal Summer season. About 350 passengers a day on average during the peak season, & during Fall foliage season it averages 450-500 passengers per day. Thanks for stopping by.

@gibb1991 When the Amtrak "Downeaster" trains arrive, & runs service to/from Brunswick, Maine Eastern will have even more ridership!

@rockinrollfan37 Yeah, no prob man. I'll load the F3A video on here tomorrow. I've been busy getting us ready for a major safety inspection at work the last few days, so not much time for YT as of late. Sorry for the delay man.

just noticed did the ("E") engines originally come equiped with three note horn's? I know any ("F") units i ever seen had single note horns,as did BL2's
rockinrollfan37 2 years ago
@rockinrollfan37 No, the E's all had single note "Blat" horns on them, just like the early F3's did. This engine in this video still has her 1970's Amtrak issue K5LA 5 chime on it, along with her sister #488. Both horns are in dire need of a re-tune soon. As you can probably tell. They still sound really good from a distance though.
