What is Buddhism to my understanding - It's not the general idea... so don't bash please... I've only been studying 3/4 years...

One monk on you tube said that Buddhism is not a religion, nor a philosophy but a self psychotherapy. He was comming from describing the importance of meditation.

no it doesnt matter if a black woman was the first buddha on the earth,but again you are not understanding Buddhist cosmotology,which Buddha on this earth was a black woman?shakyamuni or the 28 that came before him?which one was black on the other planets??you do know that their are Buddhas on other planets dont you?also it seems you are trying to rewrite history shakyamuni was an indian male his lineage is also traced back thru the vedas which states his warrior line.have a nice day.

@SacredCarvings what do u mean by original Buddha???if you are talking about DHARMAKAYA (the truth body)then no it was not a woman or man it is formless,also their were 28 buddhas before shakyamuni.also if you are talking about the one in india named shakyamuni then no he was an indian male or are u refering to the female buddha in the mahaparinirvana sutra??

@SacredCarvings you do know most Buddhists do think this way only in the west in a very smal tiny minority do you find heretical Buddhist veiws that are outside of the sutras,Buddhism in asia is different than in america.in america they kinda just "make things up as they go along"type of buddhism.
