There is psychology at work here. She is being pleasant, passive, non-agressive, non-threatening, right up to the sudden instant where whe launches a totally berserk attack, far more violent than the other guys are prepared for. It's like 'shock and awe'. It takes a moment for the other guys to switch into 'fight' mode and in that moment, she is gone. If she had behaved differently prior to her attack, they might well have been wary and she wouldn't be able to get away with it.

you'd be surprised at what really happens in multi fighting, you imagine that everyone would be co=ordinated in thier attack and would all jump in to save thier friend but in a lot of cases its just not what happens. typically a lot of times not everyone there is commited to actually hurting someone, they just want to see someone get beat up, and then theie astonished as to how the tables have just turned

No, I understand what they are implying in this video and the whole theory behind it, catch them off guard, play the part of weak victim till your ready to make your move, play dead, so to speak. But I think people who are into this whole reality based self defense thing are completely underestimating the "untrained" thugs out there. They are faster, more aggressive, and train more than people think. And most of them are alot bigger than these guys.
