The Government has embarked on a nuclear electricity generation project to face the incumbent power shortages the country constantly faces. The nuclear electricity project committee which is spear headed by former energy Minister Achilo Ayako is aimed at establishing a reliable and affordable source of electricity in the country. The committee is tasked with undertaking extensive civic education regarding nuclear electricity power generation as well as identifying a site and appriate technology for the project taking into account environmental and social impact concerns.

Why aren't we investing in solar power? We have plenty of sun all over Kenya. Where are we going to store nuclear waste? Kenyan lives will be at risk. We can't even contain a simple petrol spill, how are we going to contain the nuclear waste?

Kenyans are such hypocrites, we want to develop and to get electricity but yet we don't want nuclear energy. What is the cheapest alternative? yes I thought so Nuclear...people need to understand as the energy demands increase then we need alternative form of energy and nuclear energy is the cheapest. The rest we do not even have the knowledge to come close to adopting that kind of energy.

it is a committee not a plant. please Kiraitu stop fooling Kenyans. Lets first use the money on areas that are a priority like proper schools, hospitals and roads. Committee is just another way to embezzle money. I am not holding my breath here. nothing will come out of it.

The fat cats are grinning cheek to cheek about the possibility of huge kickbacks. Lets just say it will cost twice as much as the estimates fellow Kenyans.
