The worlds-biggest(?) pressure-sensitive LCD graphic drawing surface!
The 'Exotiq' is made from a Wacom 12 x 19 Intuos3 and an LG 22" Lcd, sandwiched together. So really, it's a DIY wacom Cintiq, hence the name 'Exotiq'.
*Original credit, and copious thanks goes to Drew at bongofish.co.uk for making the first hacked $5 'DIY-tiq'.
Genius!
I cannot thank everyone on the forum who came before me and passed on their knowledge.and good humor,. But in recognition, here's me stepping up the state of the art :)

As for the stand/arm design: inspired by H.R.Giger's grotesque blend of organic and mechanical forms. A metamorphosis of insect, vertebrate, and carnivore forms give the imposing presence of a living manufactured beast of burden. Its sole purpose, to slave under my iron drawing pen!

  • ehmm not offence but. this guy draws really bad... he bought that wacom because he got the money or he actually use it as artist or professional and here he just joke around???

  • @bluaaahhhh

I'm not offended by your statement... I'll admit I'm not a great digital artist. But I take issue with your ignorant question, did I just buy a $5000 Wacom Cintiq to doodle?

    NO! READ THE DESCRIPTION!!!

    I. BUILT. IT. MYSELF. FOR LESS THAN $300

Many months of design and fabrication went into this project.

  • why are lcd tablets so expensive whereas the components are ultra common and cheap ?!

an ipad costs 500$ yet it is a full computer, with cpu, graphic card ect... not just a screen. and it's still cheaper than a monitor and a graphic tablet bought together !

    a full hd monitor 150$

    a graphic tablet 200$ max

why can't we excpect a tablet monitor for less than 500 $ ?

  • @zecle

    The short answer: Market economics.

Companies will charge as MUCH as people are willing to pay...

Professionals in any trade will pay big money for a high grade tool.

  • are there any small tablets that allow you to see the computer screen on them?

  • @XxLightNTheDarknessX

None smaller than the Cintiq 12"... You could make one, but bear in mind that a small screen is going to be aggravating to do any real work on. Though the resolution of the Wacom pads is VERY high in comparison to the screen.

  • @xato909 I've just got one, it's a bit cramped if you go near the edges of the picture/tablet but seems pretty decent for just starting out

  • Correction... Not all computers have a USB port. Generally after 2001 all computers do.
