This is, in my opinion, John Mayer's best work. Music and lyrics. Concept and execution. Brilliant.
Apologies for the slip-ups, this take is far from perfect, but I CERTAINLY felt the weight of what this song was written about... I almost didn't almost-cry.

I love this song. It sounds silly, but I related it to me and this guy...we had a relationship for 3 years in high school. I got hurt, so I left him. I just stopped talking to him. We graduated in June and I took a semester off and I was so afraid of seeing him at City College. I didn't want to see him and I didn't want to not see him. I saw him last week. My heart was pounding out of my chest as I quietly passed him so he didn't see me. I don't know what I'm doing anymore...
