TINKARA - The Place 2 B featuring Ian Anderson, live 2004

Tinkara Kovac & band, featuring the legendary Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull as special guest, playing Tinkara's hit song "The Place 2 B" with an extended flute jam section, recorded & taped live in March 2004, Cankarjev Dom, Ljubljana, Slovenia.

This was their first "meeting" onstage, in front of an audience, except for a short rehearsal with the band the afternoon of day before.
The flute solos etc are totally improvised, and the forma & duration of the song were left to old-school spontaneity.

Actually, Jethro Tull also have played their own live cover version of this song, with Tinkara as special guest on flute, on several occasions & concerts (Italy, Austria).

The music is brilliant from both of them, the difference is, that she stands on the same spot, while Ian is all over the stage, and sometimes on one leg :D

But then again who wouldn't be nervous on their first meeting with a musician of such magnitude

no... Improving THAT isn't good ENOUGH. 1 person improv is hard enough, then throw on another person, try to match musical phrases on the spot, and then it is just plain difficult.
