Wow!!! Did you have the honour of meeting him??? How lucky!!!
Anyway, I like both him and Furlanetto. Fantastic Leporellos nowadays.

Singing the catalogo aria without a catalogue seems to be the new fashion. The producers seems to rack their brain to find a way to sing this aria without a catalogue. This is ridiculous! I am not against modern costumes or a transposition of the story in the modern times but please give Leporello back his fucking book!

I met Ildebrando today after Giovanni at the Met! His voice is always shimmering with an unparalleled legato, and live it's tenfold. Haha, I think he's becoming today's Furlanetto, practically able to sing this role in his sleep. But like Furlanetto, he always brings something fresh to it. While in this production he's sardonic and lecherous, in today's he was jokingly flirtatious and very human. Gaaahh, I can't get over hearing him hum those notes at the end of the catalogue - just beautiful!
