Bing Crosy and The Andrews Sisters singing their million selling Pistol Packin' Mama, released in 1943. It reached # 2 on the pop charts and picked up a Gold record. It also holds the honour of being the very first song to top the newly introduced Country music Billboard charts, in early 1944.

Pistol Packin' Mama
Lay that pistol down, Babe. Lay that pistol down. Pistol packin mama Lay that pistol down.
Oh, drinkin beer in a cabaret Was I havin fun! Until one night she caught me right And now I'm on the run.
Oh, lay that pistol down, Babe. Lay that pistol down. Pistol packin mama Lay that pistol down.
Oh, I'll sing you every night Bing And I'll woo you every day. I'll be your regular mama And I'll put that gun away.
Oh, lay that pistol down, Babe. Lay that pistol down. Pistol packin mama Lay that thing down before it goes off and hurts somebody!
Oh, she kicked out my windshield And she hit me over the head. She cussed and cried and said I lied And she wished that I was dead.
Oh, lay that pistol down, Babe. Lay that pistol down. Pistol packin mama Lay that pistol down.
We're 3 tough gals From deep down Texas way. We got no pals They don't like the way we play.
We're a rough rootin tootin shootin trio But you ought to see my sister Cleo She's a terror make no error But there ain't no nicer terror Here's what we tell her:
Lay that pistol down, Babe. Lay that pistol down. Pistol packin mama Lay that pistol down
Pappy made a batch of corn The revenuers came. The draugh was slow So now they know You can't do that to Mame.
Oh, lay that pistol down, Babe. Lay that pistol down. Pistol packin mama Lay that pistol down.
Oh, singing songs in a cabaret Was I havin fun! Til one night it didn't seem right And now I'm on the run.
Oh, lay that pistol down, Babe. Lay that pistol down. Pistol packin mama Lay that pistol down.

People don't realize how much of an influence Bing Crosby was on Country, and how much country was on Crosby. For example, Crosby covered songs like this, and "don't fence me in." At times he was influenced by country vocal styles. Crosby, like wise, with his smooth note bends, was a huge influence upon Western SWing singers (who imitated Jazz/Standards singers.. Tommy Duncan & Tex Williams would be an example ), as well as Crooners
like Eddy Arnold, George Morgan, and a portion of Carl Smith's material (Smith could also belt it out like Hank Williams though, too). In fact, some of the note-feathering style heard in country (as well as "western" artists like Roy Rogers/Sons of the Pioneers, Gene Autry) came from the influence of standards as well as feaux "Irish" brough-feathering. Bing crosby used that a lot in his music. Direct influences of songs like "sweet adeline" "when Irish eyes are smiling" also
added to it. Either way it shows how pop & country influenced each other. Even Ernest tubb recorded "blue christmas" with the Andrews sisters (I believe). PPL don't think of Bing as an influence, but he was.
