Anne-Marie demonstrates how to do a simple but striking technique called the double pour. It's a great way to add interest and versatility to a basic mold design.

  • Where did you get the electronic thermometer?

  • @Novaphotog We sell an infrared thermometer at Bramble Berry. But you can also find them in kitchen gadget stores and outdoor specialty shops.

  • Not sure how that loaf mold would cut. You would have to cut it sideways, right?

  • @arieswitch376 No, you just cut in slices as usual. I show an example of one I made earlier at :35 in the video.

    Happy Soaping!

  • Sorry if I'm getting annoying but I'm wondering how some micas aren't safe to use in things like lip gloss.

  • @crystalrain1998 So the safety of a product for cosmetic use is determined by the FDA in the U.S. and other countries have their own organizations that decide what is and isn't safe. So sometimes you'll have a mica that safe to use in say Japan but not the US and vice versa. And while a particular color may no longer be used because it i found to be harmful, sometimes they aren't used because they may be an irritant for some people. So I like to play it safe and just follow the FDA guidelines.
