Bout from the final eight of the 2009 Flynn Memorial Epee tournament held at Buck's County Academy of Fencing.

Christian Rivera was a member of the Ohio State epee team and before going off to college used to tear up the high school, cadet and junior competitions in USFA competitions.

Dan Richards, a high school senior, has been doing a similar act.

Funny as it seems, since to me, they both seem so young, is that they are two of the better epee fencers of their "generations" in the USFA.

Certainly, this was Rivera's toughest bout of the day.

I saw this bout in person (I'm the guy in the white baseball cap sitting on the bench next to Christian's dad.) I have never fenced Dan, but I've fenced Christian a few times at Masters FA, and in the seeding pool at this tournament.. Both of these guys are fine athletes and fencers.
