sounds like an octavia, with some pog, and an 808.

It's an Octavia. I know he had a a Voodoo Labs ProOctavia which for the money was a close version of the Tycbro-Octavia. But now that he has a lot of money, has great tone advice from Steve Jordan and Rene Martinez, and can get whatever he likes... I'm certain now he has the Roger Mayer Octavia.

Would you like some Shoarma with your weed mister mayer ?
I bet he was stoned at Picnic At The Park aswel, he was so happy !
-
Agreed haha.
Amsterdam being Amsterdam.
You can see he is alot more relaxed and expressive in his playing (not that he was never expressive).
Esp. in the i Don't Trust Myself solos!

i use a mini pog and a ts 808 and it is similar to this sound..
-
hahaha how high is he right now in this video???????

You are an absolute moron, it's the exact same melody as Black Cat. It's not an insult to John that he clearly likes it and is inspired by the guitar riff in that song? He improvises on it but it's Black Cat, jeez.

I thought he uses a Roger Mayer Octavia like Hendrix and SRV.... I love John's sound, but he changes gear so much, it's impossible to keep up with. The POG and Octavia have the ability to "Octave up" which make it have that sweet sound. The Boss Octave "octaves down" one or two... I hated octave pedals cause I thought they all octaved down. Not the case... Now I want a Octavia or a Chicago Iron
