Tony D(Tony Depula) video for "Check The Elevation" from his 1991 album "Droppin' Funky Verses" on Island/4th & Broadway. Tony D. was a "Major" contributor as producer to the music behind Trenton New Jersey's Poor Righteous Teachers and other early 90's conscious hip hop artists. Such as YZ, Lakim Shabazz, The Crusaders For Real Hip Hop and King Sun. Tony D. was responsible for the original assembly of samples Naughty by Nature flipped for "O.P.P." In 2001 Tony D released two 12 inches "What You Say" & "Wizard Of Oz" on the UK label Grand Central. Tony D. passed away at the age of 42 in a car accident on April 4,2009.

  • R.I.P. Tony D. I didn't know Tony personally but he always took the time to respond to my emails on my soundclick page and gave me advice on my music, the music biz and tips re: beat production. Seemed like a real cool dude, just saw he passed and wanted to post this.
