Comparing the Barber LTD SR and the MI Audio Blue Boy Deluxe. The amp is a Dr. Z Maz 18 NR, the guitar is my Les Paul Standard with Duncan Antiquities.

  • They are totally different designs. Totally different gain stages. Not good for comparison

  • @GuitarHero2790

Well, they both use the JRC4558 chip. Also, I can dial the pedals in to sound similar to each other. That's grounds for comparison to me! But at the end of the day they are different enough to own both pedals.

  • Maybe its just because I am a Barber fan, but the LTD SR to me sounds more natural whereas the Blues Boy sounds more modern and grainy.

  • True, the Barber LTD SR is amazing. Both are great pedals.

  • which of the two 'feels' better tonewise?

i had the blue boy deluxe once but most setting aren't particularly useful.

  • I love both of the pedals. The BBD has more gain.

  • I found the bbd to be a workhorse. It has a ton of useful settings imo, choosing one is losing out. Changeable chips is a cool feature too. Not knocking the barber, just sharing.
