In this short tutorial I explain the basics of configuring Doom Builder to work for your desired source-ports as well as the various features that are customizable in the config.
Try saving your map (Doom Builder may still complain at you), then closing the map and opening it up again - this gets rid of unused sectors which cause that error with the nodebuilder.
Yeah I wouldn't recommend the new Doom Builder - the GUI isn't as user friendly. And for a good practice level, start off with a basic Deathmatch map. Make it symmetrical so it's not too complex, add some doors, windows/skyboxes, and lifts for practice. Then add the weapons and such and try to add some detail. After that, you'll progress from there.

Now there is a Doom Builder 2. Its pretty kool, but it is a bit more advanced to use.
Have any ideas for a practice level I could make?
Thank you for these videos.
