Diggins, Panthers finish regular season undefeated

What a way to go out. Skylar Diggins scored 31 points in front of a sell out crowd in her final home game of her outstanding high school career as the Washington Panthers defeated Benton Harbor 75-38 to finish the regular season undefeated for the first time in school history. Fellow senior Rakeesha Lane and Takoia Larry added 11 and 10 points respectively. It was just the 2nd loss of the season for the Tigers. Illinois bound Destiny Williams scored 26 for Benton Harbor.The senior class enters sectionals with a 97-6 record at the varsity level in their four years. Three of those losses came to teams outside of Indiana and two of them came in the state championship game. That means the Panthers have lost just once in the regular season to an Indiana team.For Diggins, its been amazing career, one that almost certainly will end with her winning Miss Indiana Basketball. Washington is my heart," Diggins said. "You turn around and see these fans and I probably know everyone by name. "Diggins says it doesn't feel like four years have gone by. "Any freshman, sophomore, junior out there---make sure you cherish every moment because it's moments like this that you don't forget. "I get choked up talking about it. "Diggins did get choked up before the game, during the National Anthem. She shared a tear with her step-dad and Panther head coach Maurice Scott as senior Jasmine Watson sang an amazing rendition of the Star Spangled Banner.
