This was before they really discovered themselves in slashed amps, distortion, loud feedback, on-stage camp, and Dave's wailing guitar solos !
In the notes to the recently released box set, Ray Davies said this was one he wrote when he was still in art college, still a nerdy kid looking to get laid, LOL.

This was recorded and released legitimately by a group called "The Majority" in 1965. Their version is extremely high-energy.

I like the Kinks and this song is fine but mm, it's not their best.
