Dan Suskin hand-cranks his 1913 Rolls Royce Silver Ghost after rebuilding the engine. The car sat dormant for 12 years before he purchased it, then he did a 5-month clean-and-tune before starting the car.

  • I'm not sure what Dan uses in his. The one I drive has modernized bearings and is lubricated with 10W30 Mobil 1 synthetic.

  • Oil in 1913 was pretty thick and gooey compared to the modern brew. What oils do you use to lubricate oldies like this Rolls-Royce?

Nice to hear and see the engine running. Thanks!
