I was just pontificating that's all, and just wondered how or if it might work.
I loved the birch bark fire tube you made on bushcraftusa, very clever.

@Yorkshirefisherboy I don't know as ive never let it get wet as I carry it in a sealed platic bag.
I think that if you used vaseline that it wouldn't light using char cloth but would using a ferro rod.

A silly question but is it possible to semi-waterproof it or light it wet if you coat it in vaseline? Rather like a vasline soaked cotton wool ball...
