  • speechless....awesome....amazing!!! cant wait for April to see them in ATL

  • I LIKE you GUYS!!! GLORY TO GOD YOU HAVE A NICE GIFT FROM OUR CREATOR :)

  • The moment i saw chris and kim walker The only one word which came out of my mouth is LOVE U GUYS :)

  • @Aphoresis & @smallzinc . If you have an argument, take it up with God on your own, with an open and humble heart to the truth. God knows exactly what the problem is, and if you both really love God, you will be open to what God thinks not just what you think as individuals based on theories etc. God is REAL. and very practical.

  • AMEN Ms. Kim ! ! !

  • @Aphoresis It's self-contradictory because it requires intellect to decode and interpret what He says in that verse. Thus, if anti-intellectualism was required it would be elusive to the listener and thus moot.

Okay, now I'm ready for your next round of random verses. Bring them on. Each one you employ, you do well to corroborate the Biblical stance that the mind/intellect is valuable to God and an invaluable tool in His kingdom.

  • @Aphoresis Jesus, in this verse, is addressing the OT perspective--law. He is addressing the idea of cheek for a cheek. He is addressing the idea of spiritual warfare (by the way, this is why the devil is rarely spoken of in the OT and why bad and good are attributed to God/Yahweh. They didn't realize there was a spiritual battle. They wrongly attributed things to God as direct author instead of indirect author. Anyway, Jesus is not denouncing intellect for to do so would be self-contradictory.

  • @Aphoresis However, the intellect that is inspired by God and divine has nothing to do with what is referred to in Scripture. It takes intellect to speak, compose writings, present prophetic speeches, argue with the prophets of Baal, present to the Greek philosophers, discuss (young Jesus) with the theologians in the temple, teach Timothy proper theology, teach Nicodemous, use apologea (1 Peter 3:15), love God with your mind, etc. My ways are not your ways refers to the unbeliever (context).

  • @Aphoresis Fine, I'll pick off each random piece you throw at me. We'll start here and I anticipate a gamut of nonsystematic pieces coming my way. I'll refute each one.

So, Matt 11:25. Now, if you wish to delve into Calvinism vs. Arminianism, we can go there. But for now, I'll try to dance around that issue. This verse speaks of kingdom business (kingdom economy, kingdom relationships, etc.). Often, kingdom (last shall be first, turn the other cheek, etc.) is antithetical to conventional ways

  • @smallzinc

"That verse" was the only thing I was discussing. i find it very telling how you want to launch out into an abstract discussion rather than confront scripture...very telling.

  • @Aphoresis In the same fashion, the mind is an instrument given by God and in His image and is to be used (love the Lord with all your mind). Now if you mean intellect to be equated to secular/human/foolish reasoning, then I concur with you. However, we are discussing intellect. Paul was a huge proponent of the intellect, correct theology, exegesis, philosophy, apologetics, etc.

Again, you undermine your own position by claiming intellect is not important (anti-scriptural) and yet using it.

  • @Aphoresis You used intellect but we can agree to disagree (no need to belabor the point). That verse has nothing to do with what we are discussing. We can address that later if needed (correct exegesis is necessary unless you are in danger of misapplication). Let's examine something--shall we use out feet to go to church? Shall we use our eyes to observe the text? Shall we use our voices to sing praise (despite James' thoughts on the tongue)? But why should we do this? Those are all corrupted.

  • @smallzinc

    I didn't use intellect I used a scripture.

a scripture that conclusively shuts down any claim for the SUPREMACY of intellect in Christianity.

it;'s a shame that secular intellectual movements found their way into Christianity. But then the Apostle Paul warned repeatedly about this. And Loving those verses means loving when people actually obey them and carry them out IN REAL LIFE.

  • @Aphoresis Strawman. I love the verses you quoted!

  • @Aphoresis Nice, using intellect to disprove intellect's supremacy. Seriously, without intellect there is no text to begin with--takes composition skills, listening skills, verbal skills, audience awareness, contextual awareness, cultural awareness, etc. It's too bad the secular anti-intellectual movements in history found their way in and were popularized among believers.

  • @smallzinc

SHOUT FOR JOY, all the earth. Worship the LORD with gladness; Psalm 100:1

MAKE A LOUD NOISE, and rejoice, and sing praise. Psalm 98:1

Let them praise his name in the DANCE Psalm 149 :3

I will say it again, your MAN MADE traditions have made the Word of God of none effect, and what always undergirds it is spirit of pride..

  • @smallzinc

Anti-intellectual? Who in the world told you that Christianity was supposed to be intellectual? (Matt 11:25).

An intellectual Christianity is not a scriptural Christianity. it is in point of fact, a pharisaic facsimile. It is the replacement of the word of God with the traditions of men.

If we are to trace the corruption of Christianity that lies behind your beliefs we must go back further than 150 y. a simple reading of the Psalms is sufficient to refute YOUR ideal of worship

  • Get to New Zealand Jesus Culture come to do some tours like in tauranga a free concert plllz

  • @raideragent is actually accurate here. This video/interview is permeated in nonsense. However, none of us should be surprised as the anti-intellectual movement crept into the gatherings of believers some 150 years ago and we're still corroborating its validity without realizing it's a placebo (and thus many of us live placebo Christianity).

  • @raideragent King David stripped off naked and danced spontaneously in front of the ark of the convenant, because he knows that God was with him...singing to God with new songs and dancing are BIblical...the Apostle Paul and Silas were in prison...they sang hymns and God freed them from captivity...the true Jesus didnt come to create a religion but connect us relationally...praise and worship is one way of reconnecting with God, freely without constraints...because Jesus freed us on the cross :)

  • Lord, honor these two young people's hearts desires~! Intimacy with you and a generation set on fire for You!

  • COME TO MY CHURCH!!! >.<

  • venir a colombia =)
