This is the start (or end) of the CS7 super highway and is a shared-use footway as all the signs clearly show. Someone needs to go to specsavers!

  • This kind of "shared space" is quite fashionable in road planning circles. OH SHIT!

  • @joshopsho Thanks for the tip! Ill give it a go :)

  • does he think repeating himself makes him right, it's a cycle area

  • @sirarrgh yeh, if ur heading south, into Rusholme then you have to cut across the junction to access it, then cut back across to rejoin the road, quite dangerous. Yew tree road (111 bus route) is a less congested speedy alternative at quiet times.

  • "This is a walkway!..."

    He sounds like a teacher.

  • @sirarrgh I know it very well. like a ice rink when it freezes aswell. Made a joke of it, as once going down their on a busy night one of us was shouting 'its a f*cking cycle lane mate' at all the peds. 2 footpaths but they want the bike lane. Its still often quicker than the road, even if you need to slow down, as you avoid 3 or so lights. Try cycling forums and such, lots of cycling stuff going on in mcr.

  • Something like that up here in Gunche, sorry Manchester. Near whitworth park, just before the curry mile for those who might commute that way ('Cause I'd love someone to ride with ;))

Its clearly marked a a CYCLE ONLY lane, and there is a footpath right next to it, but there is always, and I literally mean always people walking on it, who refuse to move out of the way or give you abuse.

I've given up with it now, just carry right on along the road.

  • There's a section like that in Bristol where they've used terracotta pavers to mark a suggested route - I think some of them have bicycle symbols on, but the Saturday shoppers wander all over - not that I get upset by it. I don't commute that way so I don't know if there's any friction ..

  • But that would require looking at the sign. Tooo much like hard work, better to shout at byclists who must be in the wrong.

  • @mrcellophane99 If you look at the bollard at 00:02 you can see that there are cycle signs on both sides of it. Surely an indication that the cyclists were joining a cycle path?
